Just miserable here today. The experts say it got up to 113 but not sure it was THAT hot. Humidity was horrid but I do know that at 6:30 it was 107 at my house. THAT IS UNREAL!!!!
Tomorrow it is suppose to cool off - drop about 5 degrees - Whooppee!!!!!!!! I do not like Sou Cal any more - wish I had the $$ to just pick up and go.
Got most of my washing done this morning but still have a couple loads - will not do it unless I can get in gear in the early a.m. I am so irritated with these kids here - they will do very little unless I have a fit and that just wears me out. LOL.
The poor birdies - they must be going nuts. Will try and get their feeders filled early tomorrow morning also - am sure a lot will be lost due to the heat and very little water. Stripes is in for the night so that is a good thing. It was so hot today I did not have the heart to put those other two kitties outside at all. Tomorrow may give it a try however as Conrad and Miss Blackie do need some peace and quiet for themselves. They are NOT young kids and those two kitties are ornery to say the least - they are precious but they are rambunctious kitties - what else can I say.
Hope all had a great day.

Hey Winifred - I'd say come to Michigan, but you'd probably hate the cold and snow

Hi Birding friends! Just home from a few fun days in France and wanted to stop by and say hello.

Am sitting here thinking about the feeders outside which are still empty. You can hardly breathe out there. Yep, they say the temps are cooler BUT the experts also quickly say it will feel hotter than yesterday as the humidity will be out of sight today. OK, so I need to get out there and fill some at least.
Hey, my sis and BIL live in Flint - not sure I would like it either. Nothing personal and right now it would probably be better than here. LOL.
Gotta run, well that is not true, need to walk outside and start on the feeders. Will get these two teens in gear and turn off my hearing in the process and have them help. Sometimes they are more trouble than help but they need to do something.
Have a great day everyone.
I DID go out and fill the feeders - with the teens help?????????? Mercy me, what an ordeal. Anyway, the feathered ones should be happy. Horrible horrible humidity.

LOL, Winifred! sometimes it is more of a pain to get a teen to help than just do it yourself, I know. It is blazing hot here again today, only today is more of a dry heat, which is so much better than humidity, but I am still wearing a wet towel around my neck and feeling miserable. My pups are miserable also, can't get cool enough.

Hi Birding Friends, The above post didn't go as planned. I pasted the photo and then hit submit ~~senior moment~~. I tried to edit it and add text, but when I tried that the community boards were shut down for 'maintenance' and I couldn't get back on till very late. I don't know why they do that during the hours that posters are using the boards so much. Wee morning hours would make more sense, at least to me.
It was hot and drippy humid yesterday and guess it will be more of the same today, and tomorrow and so on. The weather hasn't slowed the birds down though when it comes to eating the seed and peanuts. Have to fill the feeder every day, sometimes twice a day. ~~
~~
Birdmama, It looks like you may be having some really nice weather, cooler for the end of July. Wow, I did just type 'the end of July'. Amazing how time flies when 'you're having fun'. How is Poppi doing these days, and of course Presto and Grayson?
Winifred, I hope you all get relief from the heat and humidity + the drought soon. Seems like it just drags on and on and then drags us down too. I wilt in the humidity. Take it real easy and just don't do much when it's so darn hot. You all need a tropical storm to form near Mexico and move directly north and northeast. You know the drought is really bad when the wild critters, inc. snakes, are trying to find water in towns. Poor animals and birds. Praying for rain there.
Need to go get dressed. DS fixed breakfast, biscuits, sausage, bacon and eggs, excellent as usual. DD got a new car(for her), a 200? Saturn. Her old car was a hazard to drive and I worried a lot about her and GDs riding around in it. Cracked axle, bald tires, + a host of other problems. When it didn't pass inspection, she had no choice, so I helped her with buying it. Thank goodness for electronic banking.
Have a lovely Sunday. Waving to all my Birding Friends, take care and be safe!!

Not sure I want a tropical storm - would much prefer one from the NORTH - they are always cold and just feel good. Not so those from Mexico. AT least by the time they get here they are unbelievably muggy. Another very muggy day although the temps actually did drop - but you would never know it. There is no sun out as we had a few drops of moisture - can you believe it - but it was not good. I went out to take a small bucket of paper stuff for my recycling container and shook out the towels on the plywood in the cat "jailhouse" and could hardly make it back into the house. Very hard to breathe. Sigh. Have not put the kitties outside for two days as it was so miserable.
Kids finished up the spaghetti - it is gone now for sure. Me? I had delicious perfection salad - love it. The last couple times I made it however, it was not quite tart enough. I think it is the vinegar I have been buying. I love the store where that vinegar comes from - mostly healthy stuff - but I need a STRONG vinegar so back to the big box store for Heinz. It is strong.
The last major thing I have to do tonight - I think this is the last
is to turn on the dishwasher. I sure love those things. I never had one until I retired and moved in to help Dad - boy howdy was I dumb.
Try and stay cool one and all.![]()
