"Admirers of the royals were excited to see a different side to the family in light of a certain celebration

While celebrating Prince William's birthday, fans hope to witness the carefree side of the royal family, which they caught a glimpse of in last year's unofficial record-breaking photo.

Although posted last year, supporters of the royals will hope to see a couple more moments like this during William's weekend celebrations.

Taken by Kate Middleton herself, the image depicts her three kids and her husband jumping over what appears to be a sand dune on the beach.

Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, are joined together with their father, holding hands as they all sport different expressions of enjoyment.

The Princess' work portrays a carefree, fun moment between the family, and she posted it on Instagram to commemorate William's 42nd birthday in 2024.

Social media users immediately shared their love and support for such an image.

One user commented: "Possibly the best pic they have ever shared - so relaxed, normal, full of joy."

Another said: "BEST ROYAL PHOTO EVER."

It was accompanied by a caption that read: "Happy birthday Papa, we all love you so much! Cx."

At the time the pic was posted, Kate was receiving chemotherapy treatment for an undisclosed type of cancer.

With her appearances limited in the public eye, this moment made the image even more special for her family's admirers, possibly intensifying the reasons behind labelling it as an (unofficial) record-breaking photograph

William and his wife, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, are usually captured looking poised and regal in photos of them conducting their royal duties."

But admirers found one particular picture extremely special.

Many believed that this family photo/s outshone any royal portrait of the heir to the throne, with claims that it broke an 'unofficial record'.

           

The royals are usually dressed to impress for their duties and ceremonies 

(so, I'm a sucker for that "Love Look" and for a good turquoise -  I just HAD to squeeze this photo in here somewhere)

Cute photo. Very "2025." William, hopefully, will continue to modernize the monarchy.....if they expect to keep it "in business" much longer.

Thank you for sharing.  This appears to be a "real family."  I sort of hate that William will soon be king.  He seems to enjoy the spare time he has now for his family and once he takes that job as king, that spare time will be rare.
