Heard today that Josh Hamilton's wife is going to be on the "reality" show, Real Housewives of Orange County". He's very open about being a long-time addict. When he played here in Dallas, he was caught cattin' around...and that was EVEN when he had a professional handler w/ him 24/7. LOTS & lots of relapses. Wow....I would think having his personal life under a microscope & in front of a camera wouldn't help the situation.
Hope he invested his $$ wisely...I'm sure jobs won't be plentiful when you have that kind of track record of being 'wheel's off'. Odd how the Mrs. is doing this show. Maybe he's already run through his $125Million contract.
Can't imagine why anyone would want to watch those shows to see someone suffering. My sports radio guys mentioned the husband that committed suicide...and the show went on. Macabre.

Have you read his autobiography?
I haven't but son did in 9th or 10th grade for a book report that year.
Son was impressed with how he turned his life around.
THEN he left the Rangers and went to ?? team in CA in a less than best situation in how he handled the contract negotiations or something. I'm a little short on the exact details.
And it seems maybe two years ago, maybe three years, maybe it was the Oakland A's he went to or maybe the LA Angels . . . don't remember . . . but when they were playing the first series with the Rangers in Arlington and Josh made his first appearance as an opponent . . . he got a longer BOO than the cheers for when the Rangers were announced at the beginning of the game. Something like that. The fans didn't like how he had conducted himself.
I'm sure we still have the book around here somewhere. It was a paperback. Probably somewhere in son's closet or lost in a drawer at his computer desk.

I had read they were making a movie about Josh's life. Wonder what happened with that?

Glad you responded....your POV is important. Thank you for circling back.
'How it is any different than any other form of entertainment"? It's much, much, MUCH different. I tend to not watch "Negative TV"...which encompasses scripted angry 'reality' shows all the way to 'Sopranos' killing types of programs. These shows chip away @ our thoughts. And having them on regular/cable TV, makes it much more expectable in our society. And consequently spills over to negative posts much like which I'm responding.
There are many forms of entertainment that don't involve angry yelling or killing...and if that means a 'pat on the back', then I'm continually straining my arm to do so.

You choose not to watch negative tv but yet you know all about Josh Hamilton's situation so you aren't all about bunnies and rainbows.
And...you post on this board which isn't always a picnic. LOL

Oh as an aside, Jim Edmonds wife has also been cast to be on the show along with Josh's wife.

I Googled this guy and his wife I agree maybe being involved with this bunch is not a good idea for him or his wife. They seem to have been through a lot. But these shows do attract all kinds.
