He is part of the famous fertile couple the Duggars.  They once had a show but it was cancelled because Josh Duggar was accused of molesting his younger sisters.  He is now on trial for being in possession of child pornography.

I heard about the extremely disturbing images he was watching. He needs to be locked up for the rest of his life. He is a very, very sick person.

I feel sorry for his children the most.

Interesting to see if he's convicted or acquitted because he was once a reality star.

I am thankful his punishment will be based on facts.

I blame the parents in part.  Having 19 children is ridiculous to begin with. How do you give all of your children the attention  they need.  The mother had the older girls taking care of the younger ones.  It's obvious this man needs help mentally.

He can not be rehabilated, he will continue with these behaviors and needs to be in prison.

I believe his wife is a very weak person and clearly makes horrible choices.

I think she actually believes he's innocent! Makes no sense, since he's already admitted to his other antics.

I guess believing him is easier than facing the awful truth.

I hope he hasn't bothered any of his own CHILDREN........

It's the religion they belong to, Quiverfill. They believe God wants women to have baby after baby until they physically can't anymore, and that women are meant to stay home and be a mom and housewife, and any girls born will also be taught the same thing. Quite a few women have escaped from that lifestyle and have blogged about what a nightmare it was.

There's nothing wrong of course with having kids and taking care of a home, as long as it's not done because of a warped religious mentality. The Duggars have gotten a pass for years because they didn't take assistance and they were considered good Christians. Now we know that certainly wasn't the case with the good Christian part.

Two paragraphs from an article about life in the 1950's.

Raising Girls in the 50s

Little girls were expected to be "nice." They helped around the house, wore dresses and skirts, and were taught to be deferential. Even as children, girls felt family and societal pressure to focus their aspirations on home, husband, and children instead of higher education. It wasn't uncommon for a girl to marry and begin having children shortly after high school graduation. Girls were not groomed or encouraged to attend college, and if their parents did provide them with higher education, it was with the expectation that they'd meet a suitable husband and have a career they could fall back on.

Raising Boys in the 50s

Male children were expected to be strong, responsible, and assertive, but also mischievous. Boys were encouraged to enlarge themselves, explore, and claim extra territory. Parents tried to build their son's ego. They wanted him to be a winner. They encouraged their sons to excel in school, in athletics, and to attend college. Parents gave their boys more mobility, authority, and respect, but in the end, parents also expected their boys to settle down and have a family.
