Does your spouse know how much money you have and vice versa? **************************************************************************************************We each auto deposit a portion of our incomes into the joint account each month. All household bills are on auto pay from this acct. Yes, we each know how much money the other has. There is no distrust nor any secrets. It actually works well, because one of us can budget what we want for personal spending without worrying about disrupting the overall savings and household spending plan. And yes we are both financially responsible and secure, trustworthy, etc. We are each signers on the other's personal acct in case of emergency. Having an individual account just gives us the extra freedom of buying something when we want to. Me, shopping the Macy's sale him getting lost in Home Depot. Smiley Happy

Re: Joint or separate accounts?

In 2015 separate bank accounts are a must. Get a joint account to pay bills only. Married couples don't get to comfortable saying he/she would never clean the joint bank account out or transfer funds. It can happen, when you least expect it.
