Just as a reminder before we kick ourselves for not letting ‘gentlemen’

John Gotti be our babysitter or be in charge of our bank account:

Gotti organized the murder of Castellano in December 1985 and took over the family shortly thereafter, leaving Gotti as the boss of the most powerful, richest, and largest crime syndicate in the world, one that made hundreds of millions of dollars a year from racketeering, hijacking, loansharking, drug trafficking, book making, prostitution, extortion, pornography, illegal gambling and other criminal activities.

Gotti was convicted of five murders, conspiracy to commit murder, racketeering, obstruction of justice, tax evasion, illegal gambling, extortion, and loansharking.

And that’s only the public stuff Wiki was able to tell us.

He was a very ugly, evil person who hurt a lot of people.

Why do we need to glorify this lifestyle?

@sidsmom.  I'm sure everyone knows this about John Gotti. Or maybe since I am from the NY/NJ area I am just assuming that they do.

Re: John Travolta as John Gotti?

A friend begged me to go with her to see this.  AWFUL

I'm not sure who is worse, John Travolta or his wife.

Re: John Travolta as John Gotti?

Was going to try it, but sounds like a dud.  I do like some gangster movies - "Public Enemies" with Johnny Depp has been on cable a lot lately.  And I enjoy the old ones with Jimmy Cagney and Edward G Robinson.

Actually, he is a federal corrections officer and I am very proud of him.

Many of the worst criminals are also very charming - to those they choose to be - and cruel murderous thugs to others.

Is Gotti part of the Gambesi crime family?

I'll answer my own question. First of all it's the Gambino Crime Family, and yes, John Gotti became the head of it.

No. I'm West Coast. I knew the name and I knew of his Crime Family, but I didn't know all that he had done. I just assume that all the Wiseguys live by the same credo and usually die by it one way or the other.
