Anyway I'll repeat that I hope and pray he will be ok and he does have true grit. I have the utmost respect for what he went through as a POW, and salute him for his service.

I have had two friends who (years ago) needed the brain surgery in the eye area, and they both recovered soon, but certainly not in a week.  Two or three weeks? 

I wish John McCain a speedy and total recovery.

Five and one half years. They offered to release him early once for propaganda purposes, he refused unless those captured before him were also released. He refused it again when offered later.

Anyone who doesn't know what he endured should look it up, it was horrific.
