Re: John Lewis’ Funeral Tomorrow

It will be interesting to see if people who read this posthumously posted article read (and understand) this line in particular:

In my life I have done all I can to demonstrate that the way of peace, the way of love and nonviolence is the more excellent way.

@Coquille The funeral was Monday, the 27 th. I know this because they took off "Days of our Lives "

Sure hope it is on today. Couldn't believe they took it off the other day.

@golding76   Incredibly fitting that President Obama will be delivering Rep. Lewis' eulogy.

....definitely crying for me.

@Mersha @golding76  Ironic.  He also eulogized Sen. Robert C. Byrd.  Check Byrd's wiki page, if you don't already know about him.

I guess you can play both sides.

Re: John Lewis’ Funeral Tomorrow

esme,

I'm from the D.C. area, and anyone of a certain age from around here knew of Sen. Byrd.  If it isn't apparent to you by now, I am very much one who prefers to read and learn about both sides, and I am of the opinion that if this nation cannot resurrect the ability to listen to the other side, to reason with the other side, we will surely be doomed.

Reason.  Clear thinking. Empathy. Compassion.    They go a long way to understanding.

@golding76  Preaching to the choir.

You need a bigger mic to drown out those who are happy with the way things are.

eta...I'm not entirely sure what your post has to do with mine...except the first line.

Re: John Lewis’ Funeral Tomorrow

esme,

I must have misunderstood what you wrote.  Haven't even finished one cup of coffee of my two yet.  Apologies.

I am pleased we hold this same belief.

Back to the funeral...
