He's a writer not a public speaker. What a big Rut-Roh....I saw part of the interview....eegads man!

Well, at the very least this may give him fodder for his new book ... a best seller, perhaps.

There's something wrong with his story. Pedophiles are classified as those attracted to 13 and under. That isn't 16 year old girls.
I suspect there's more to it.

I am a fan of John Grisham and have read many of his books. What's going with him, what did he say. I guess I missed it.

And Grisham doesn't know enough about the subject to have caught it.

now the friends trial was back in 1997 the friend said he deserved the punishment, he got his law license back and changed his life so why is Grisham worried about old white guys in jail now over going to these sites because it doesn't appear he did this guy any favors by bringing this up again

However unseen newspaper reports of Mr H trial in 1997 obtained by the Telegraph from the local Sun Herald newspaper paint a far more serious picture of the case than Mr Grisham.
"An undercover agent who asked for some of Hs pictures over the Internet earlier this year received 13 images, all of children under 18, some under 12. They depicted children during sx explicit conduct, including intrse," said the report from November 1997, quoting a US justice department lawyer, Kathy M
The reports added that Mr H, who received treatment for alcoholism and compulsive gambling after pleading guilty to the charges, had been trapped by "an officer with the Canadian mounted police, posing as someone else" who had solicited and received the images
After receiving information from the Canadian police, US Customs agents raided Mr H's office, seizing a computer and recovering the images from the hard drive.
Prosecutors added that Mr H might have faced additional charges of transmitting prngraphic images to Maine had he not pleaded guilty.
Mr H, now 59 and back practicising law, was released in September 1999 after serving 15-months of his 18-month sentence at a Federal prison in Yazoo City, Mississippi where he worked as a library janitor earning 10 cents an hour.
His law licence was reinstated at a hearing of the Supreme Court of Mississippi in June 2002 after the court decided that notwithstanding "the seriousness of H's crime" he had "rehabilitated himself and possesses the requisite moral character to entitle him to conditional reinstatement".

Lots of creative people fall into that category. Many people dismiss artists/musicians/directors/singers, et al, for their politics as well. Their talents are, however, still celebrated, in life and death.
I've found it ironic that posters here who trashed Joan Rivers only a few months ago for her humor and profanity actually mourned her passing.
