True, @CrazyDaisy ,  it's easy to fall into that.  Expertise is important, but this shows that once more, forecasters can be wrong, even wildly wrong, and miss important factors.  Almost all were expecting a loss of around 8 to 9 million jobs, instead of an actual gain of two and a half million!

"Groupthink" isn't always correct, or even near correct.  That's good to remember.  In this case, I'd expect that it's one time that those observers are thrilled to be in error.

Places near me are hiring and people are anxious to get back to work. I hope the nation rebounds quickly. If the DOW was any indication, our economy will come back after the Covid shutdown.

All I know is we went to roof top Crab House and the workers were happy. They had a spring in their step. It feels good to earn a pay check.

Thank goodness for restaurants starting to open. Some family has a business that supplies them. Now they can get back to making their excellent living instead of the piecemeal supplying here and there!

It is people being called back.  Many were on furlough.  But it is good news....at least some are going back...or able to go back.

@shoekitty  Yes to this. I noticed the past couple days, my neighbors across the street were missing. They have been outside working in the yard or with their kids. All of a sudden..nothing. I guess they are back to work.

The May jobs report had "misclassification error" that made the unemployment rate look lower than it is. Here’s what happened. https://wapo.st/2MB4Cvj
