I think some posters are reacting the way they are because they have seen the OP lash out at them (and other posters) when she disagrees with something they post (totally unrelated to her, btw).

She has shown a hair trigger here many times.

being one of the "posters" you're probably referring to Smile

when I initially replied to her post, I was giving her my point of view on what went wrong......as well as some sound advise I had been given by an instructor of mine for placing myself in almost the same situation she found herself.....it wasn't an attack, for pete's sake, I had even mentioned I had been guilty of the same thing, which is why my instructor had give me that little pearl of wisdom......friendly not familiar.....however, she responded as she ALWAYS does, you don't pat her butt or tell her she's a good person and it's an attack on you..........well okay then..........ya get what you give........................................................raven

raven: It's all your fault - you started the snarky ball rolling.{#emotions_dlg.laugh} Kiss{#emotions_dlg.devil2}{#emotions_dlg.wub}

You know how it goes - if a cutie pie posted the same thing it would have been all hail the almight wisdom of said cutie pie. ROTFL!{#emotions_dlg.biggrin}

HAHAHAHAH..........you know what Cakers...........you're right LOL...................raven

pushin my snarky ball over to the corner ROFL

raven: Ha - I may not always agree with your pov but I do have to hand it to you - you speak your mind and I find you upfront with your posts. Not like that sickening sweet syrup some pour out all over the place just to be with the "in crowd".

Oy, now I have an earworm with that old song. "I'm in with the in crowd - I do what the in crowd does....." {#emotions_dlg.lol}

No one always agrees with everyone's POV.....but my gawd how boring it would be if we did.........even more awful if people fronted a POV just to fit in......not my style

I've never been one of those kind of people, and you can all blame a nun and the Potato lesson for that........and personally I never saw much personal benefit with being in the "in crowd".............like it better on my own Smile.....standing on your own is a good thing......not to mention your toes are a lot safer from being stood on LOL......now I've got that stupid song in my ear too.......LOL............thanks.......................................raven

Oh brother. You're so deep.

To answer you questions, what I saw as insulting to me, was right in the middle of Joey's post, where she found it "outrageous" that "we continue to high-five and pronounce you go girl," to the op" "for agreeing with her." To me-in my own opinion-that is an insult, and that is how I took it.

Perhaps some of you didn't see it, as the whole post is in one small paragraph. I understand that that can happen when you don't post on a computer, but rather are posting from a phone, or some other type of mobile device-that certain things may be difficult to see.

As I think about this situation, and having been in uncomfortable situations in the past with clients myself, in my opinion, I don't think that anyone would know what they would do, until they are in an awkward situation themselves.

Northernlights, I thought I was careful to couch my post as MY opinion on the original situation and the progression of this thread..........it was never my intent to insult other's opinions here but rather to take respectful issue with those opinions......that's fair game, in my opinion..........I do have to object to one point in your above post though: you enclose in quotes above "for agreeing with her," as though I actually wrote that phrase in my original post..........I did not.....you, me and everyone are entitled to our points of view.......

It's not necessary for you to insult those of us who actually agreed with her.

In my opinion, she felt threatened by him, and she acted in a way that she felt was best for her.

Where I place the blame, is on the agency actually, for not training her in how to handle this situation were it to come up at some point in time, and for not telling her about this client, if they knew about any of his particular behaviors, and didn't warn her about them ahead of time, before she went to work with him.

If anything, they should have male aides working with him, as others have already mentioned.

If there was a 24/7 contact number for her to call at her agency, I am sure that she would have known about it when she signed on with them.

If I was in her particular situation and it was late at night, and there was no one else on-call for me to contact at the agency, then I probably would have left, as well.

Sometimes you do the best that you can do, given what you have to work with, and then you learn what to do next time, when you get some direction.

I have been in situations myself, where I have been verbally "hit on" by clients, too, in the past. Believe me, it is no fun. I did nothing to even "encourage" them, at all. Some of them are so lonely, that they are just encouraged by someone being naturally kind to them in a professional role.

I don't even know what a crying child comparison has to even do with this thread, anyway.

{#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Thank you, northernlights ! WISE WORDS. Smile

Yes -- the other posters (who are SOOO transparent) are piling on the OP, twisting the situation, and patting themselves on the back for reducing/ridiculing the OP's Post into something is wasn't. They've created a mountain from an anthill, with their inflammatory remarks, and MOST of them have NO IDEA about the situation /credentialing required for the OP to have, to do her job (Home Health Care), which varies from state to state nor the Regs for The Agencies in those states. Their previous posts show that THEY HAVE BEEN TRYING TO STIR THE POT. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

THESE posters are, apparently, acting vindictively towards Jules (the OP) for posts she did in the past (that the posters took OFFENSE TO) and these posters somehow FEEL ENTITLED TO BELITTLE her on her thread, where MANY posters have given her Positive advice -- AS OPPOSED TO THESE Posters, who REALLY need to GET A LIFE!

You need to calm down and chill.........Kiss

How is it that all of these opinion threads turn into posters attacking each other? Definitely an interesting study in psychology. By the way NUNYA thank you for making me spit my water out my nose. LOL!
