Joan Rivers had a heart condition

Fox News is reporting in an interview 30 years ago that Joan had an arrhythmia that "scared the h&ll out of her," and she was always "very careful" anytime she was contemplating a procedure. Apparently the results of the autopsy are inconclusive at this time. We may never know for sure, but it know she had a pre-existing condition at least makes a little more sense.

Re: Joan Rivers had a heart condition

It's been mentioned about her heart condition .... and she was 81, after all ...... and she'd had more than a dozen major surgeries with all the plastic surgery ....... she could have gone at any time.

ANY of us could go at any time. {#emotions_dlg.unsure}

Re: Joan Rivers had a heart condition

Is it still considered 'pre-existing' if it was one incident many years ago?

Re: Joan Rivers had a heart condition

An extra beat or minor arrhythmia is not considered a"" heart condition"" nor is it unusual.

That was one thought I had too, if she had a noted/charted chronic condition, there's no way this procedure would have been done in that facility.

I knew/know several people with that condition who were/are in their mid nineties.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

Re: Joan Rivers had a heart condition

My daughter has a heart condition and had the same procedure 2 years ago. Hers was to rule out celiac disease. Her procedure was done in a hospital. Now not to get political (and I seriously mean that) but could it be because of her age and the new health care laws it is now done as outpatient? Again this is a question not anything else.

I think you are confusing Medicare and ACA.

We don't even know what procedure was done. For decades the trend has been to more outpatient procedures.
It's always a victory for me when I remember why I entered a room.
