I feel the jewelry should be divided equally between the daughters, period. She cannot control what happens down the road from the grave. Jewelry is one of the few treasured items that we inherit from our mothers, it all has meaning. I would not return the jewelry you have now, it will have great meaning to you after she is gone, plus you may regret giving it back.
Emotions are always high in a family, this type of thing is not unusual, sadly. Parents should do what is "fair" to everyone, but they often don't.
