He had a very unsavory history. Clearly a scoundrel, but so darn talented, he got away with much of it.

 

I had the opportunity to be within touching distance of his piano at a small TX dance hall venue back in the day. He tore that piano up. It was absolutely amazing.

 

Lewis, known to be a flirt, gave me a big smile and mischievous wink, or two. It was a great experience I've never forgotten. RIP, Jerry

@amyb Well, he sure did have a lot of rhythm! He was a troubled soul with lots of issues.  I did read today that he had a turn about in his older years and had become a better person. I hope that's true.
