My God Winifred - I didn't know your car was stolen . Sounds like whomever stole it took it for a joy ride and I'm glad that found it and were able to clean it up. Possum's right - even if you keep the windows cracked to allow some airflow, the smell should improve.

I don't understand the comment about the keys. Did they install a new ignition and not give you both keys?

I lived in a house that was robbed years ago - came home and TV was missing (didn't care), rings were stolen (didn't care), dressers emptied and bed tossed (freaked me out) and luckily my sister's cat remained asleep in the office (crooks never got that far). My dog was at my mom's being baby-sat.

I bought a house with my soon to be husband after that but never forgot how violated I felt.

Good Morning, Birding Friends, Wow, it's warm here today and I know most people would love it, but being a weird one, I wish the temps here would match home, which is 36. It's almost 80 here already and very humid.

Am heading out to get a much needed hair trim. I had a haircut before Thanksgiving and have been holding off on getting it cut till I got back down here to Florida. Love the way my hair stylist cuts my hair here. She takes her time and evens up each side etc.

Birdmama, I just realized you'd built a new 'roost' for us for January. I am sure slow sometimes. Thank you for our home.

Winifred - I am glad you got your car back. I wonder why it was held so long after Tessa and her boyfriend stole it, maybe as some sort of evidence. It is a shame that this happened to you.

It was freezing yesterday, but I think a tad warmer today. I see it is supposed to get up into the 60's next week. The sun is out every day, and when it is this cold, I don't want to see sun, I want winter to look the same as it feels.

I bought the Kirkland ham again for New Year's Day, and it is just the best ham I have ever eaten. It is on the flat side, and all natural, and very inexpensive as hams go, only $38 for a huge ham. It comes with a current glaze which is perfect for the ham. I will have DH slice it and freeze it as it freezes very well, and we can pull out what we need for sandwiches, etc. I made bar-b-q succotash, edamame instead of limas, corn bread, a broccoli casserole, and one candied sweet potato as I am the only one who likes them. I made the thumbprint cookies with raspberry jam centers for afterward. They are so easy, roll into balls, then egg white, and then in chopped walnuts, filled after they cool down. I ate a ham sandwich and some of the broccoli yesterday, it was so good.

It has been too cold to pick up doggie business, but at least now they are furry, so will be easier to see them better, LOL, so I will go hunting for them as soon as it warms up a bit.

A few years ago, I used to follow the original cancer thread that was in the among friends forum. A poster, who continues to post till this day, went to hello minus the o and back with her granddaughter and finally had to let it go. That woman was put through an emotional wringer. I am sorry that you have gone through this kind of strife as you strike me as such a kind and giving person. I continue to pray for you and really hope that your GD can get it together this year and hopefully get her kids and critters settled, with HER.

If anyone deserves a little peace and quiet with Conrad, Miss Blackie and the injured manly-man Stripes - it's you.

I know Stripes doesn't hang out much with you inside. Should you get the chance, please give him a head scratch from me.
