I honor him more for all of his tireless work toward raising money for children.  He worked tirelessly for others.

Jerry Lewis was a masterful comic who entertained millions for decades with his work.  He proved to the world what kind of fine human being he was when he used that fame,  and influence with other entertainers and business leaders, to create his Labor Day telethons.  I don't have a figure, but guess it to be in the billions of dollars that Mr. Lewis's annual event generated for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA).  The annual telethon ended a few years ago, but the awareness Mr. Lewis brought to the illness is an eternal contribution to the cause.

He had 9 Lives, he had so many serious illnesses over the years, he was blessed to have made it to 91.
