If this coronavirus keeps spreading and getting worse, I don't think there will be much of a baby boom.

I recall hearing that Italy's  birth rate is really down so perhaps it will help bring up the numbers?  Maybe a good thing?

I used to hate sharing my  Birthday month of September with so many in my classroom conceived in January.  We drew Birthday cakes and the pictures were divided amoung all with Birthdays that month. This was in first grade.

Guess what, we now have modern times, a baby is not always the result of a quarentine.

I’m sure making babies is the last thing on their minds at a sad time like this. 🙄

Many of these citizens are not ill but are being quarantine from their regular life.  Boredom sets in and you find things to do and 9 months from now the birth rate may go up.  How many of us have seen in our own towns after a couple days of an ice storm?

I don't know. Plenty of time cooped up in close quarters to go crazy over the way Luigi is chewing and breathing too loudly. Might be a Divorce, Italian Style boom as well.

Re: Italian Baby Boom?

[ Edited ]

@mamaslittlepotato  @Bhvbum, The Pill, IUDs, etc., were around during the blizzard I mentioned. We still had a big increase in births.

"Making babies" happens even in the most dire of circumstances and amid tragedies of life. Sometimes even more so.
