I have a heat pump and when it is below say 30 degrees my furnace kicks in as a back up. She should have a furnace??

I hope you get some heat soon!  In the meantime, bundle up - wear a hat and gloves. 

I've learned to tolerate high-50's in the house, but it's not always easy.

May-be she made a mistake when she posted "it's 39 in here"  and meant it's 39 here.

It's 35 outside here.  My thermostat is in the hallway is set at 70 and is reading 70.  Yet in our living room the air temp 69 and it does feel cold.  My living room has a cathedral ceiling, is over a garage and has a wall of windows so it always feels colder then the rest of the house.

Change the batteries in your thermosat !!

My best friend is taking care of my other home in another city until l move in the spring checking it every few days. When she walked in a few weeks ago she said it was FREEZING!!! Don't remember what the thermosat said but when she tried raising the temperature it wouldn't go up. She panicked and called me. Anyway...a few days later she said she put in new batteries and it worked !! I didn't even know a thermostat had batteries!!

if its 39 in your house there;s a problem...... i have a tiny apt. and during the winter months its about 72 in here...

I highly recommend the use of a heated throw for use while sitting watching TV, reading, etc.

I'm confused also.......a working furnace, yet it's 39 in your house?  I guess I just don't understand.  Be that as it may, I hope you've warmed up a bit. 39 degrees inside is not good!!!!!  To say the least!!!!!

Did you mean to say that it’s 39 outside? I don’t understand why it would be 39 inside if your thermostat is working. You have us kind of worried thinking about you trying to stay warm if it’s 39 in your house or apartment.
