Re: It's that time again that I dread

I hate CIJ, especially since it never ends until right before Christmas.  However, I would think that if you looked on their website vs sitting there watching it, you could find plenty of non-Christmas-related bargains.

I mostly dislike it because I often turn on HSN or QVC just as background noise while doing other things.  As far as shopping goes, those items are an easy pass.

All I can say is your loss.  I like to order all the QVC advance shipment food gifts for family members.  They do sell out, as I have learned, so I am happy to make my orders ASAP.  I find those Lindt chocolates an extreme bargain, although I personaly do not really eat them.

I, too, am well underway with Christmas shopping.

I cannot imagine overspending my budget on beauty items.  Yes, fashion, because one dress can cost hundreds, but the only beauty items I spend hundreds on are perfumes, and I try to limit those purchases, because we certainly never receive any bargains or sales from those manufacturers!

@RainCityWoman if you seriously "dread" tv programming, you have may have issues that you should seek help for.

If you are being sarcastic, well, i cant say much about it because i love having the chance to get items on sale, plan ahead, see whats on trend and time to receive it. Im not going to buy gifts and decor in December and hope I get it on time.  It also cooresponds to when i get an extra paycheck in the month. Woot woot.

With courtesy to my neighbor @FancyPhillyshopper , in my opinion, outspending one's budget on beauty items depends on one's budget to begin with.  QVC sells what I think of as medium priced beauty.  More than drugstore but much less than some prestige brands.  Anyway, a foundation here, a blush and lipstick there, little things add up quickly, especially if you don't have deep pockets.

Re: It's that time again that I dread

I don’t and won’t watch any CIJ shows. And anytime I might be tempted with any Christmas items, all I have to do is think of all the boxes of Christmas cr@p in our garage. As far as gifts, there are very few items I would consider buying at QVC, so that is not a reason for me to watch now. I hope the programming is good for those that watch. Like someone else said, time to take a break from buying. Fall clothes will be out soon, so my purchases are going to decline. I am also cleaning out my closet and donating a LOT of QVC clothes.

I am not a fan of Christmas until it's very cold and snowy outside and never on QVC.

Not a fan of CIJ either--especially when it starts in June---and I don't watch those shows but  I really don't buy much no matter what time of year---I have way more decor than needed anyway---

I dread it. It gets earlier & earlier every year.  Nothing like a Santa statue in June when it's 110+ outside and the second day of summer.
