Re: It's Time for FARMERS' MARKETS

Love farmers markets, the smells are wonderful. We live in the Ca. Central Valley, so a lot of veggies and fruit. We also love going down the country roads and finding good fruit and veggie stands. Can get really good deals, plus I like to support the local farmers. Happy Summer! And good EATING!

In the next town, there is a huge farmers market.  The town closes three or four blocks and it's held in the street.  It's open Saturday mornings.  It will take until at least mid July before they have any real selection.

@chessylady,  When I lived in CA, I bought the best cheeries directly from the farmer.  You are lucky in CA to have year round farmer's markets.  In Sept. the apples start and come from Michigan and Wisconsin --- so good. Cat Very Happy

You may live in the town next to me. We have a huge market down by the harbor. Not many veggies, yet but there's so much more. I noticed several new food vendors that really look interesting. I had a delicious cinnamon scone, bought beautiful plants, ate a tamale, and brought home some jerk chicken. I was hoping for some fresh pea pods but the farmers said it will be a few more weeks as they are just blooming.

Re: It's Time for FARMERS' MARKETS

We just love veggies in our family. I can't wait until farmer's market time. Unfortunately, in the North where I live, that isn't until late summer/fall.  They bring them in from the southern part of the state, Illinois and Iowa earlier in the summer...but, nothing like fresh veggies picked that day!

I love to get good tomatoes, strawberries and peaches from the Farmer's Market.  It's not time yet here though.
