Haven't had them in years. Just ordered from Walmart. Yum

@Jordan2 OMGosh Mallomars
they are soooo good. It takes all of my will power to buy just one package and have only 2 a day. One of my favorite cookies. Thank you for the reminder!

@Puzzle Piece I think on the East Coast we had something that was like a Moon Pie. It was called a Scooter Pie, it was much larger than a Mallomar, round marshmallow covered with chocolate on top of a cookie, it was made by Burrys.
It may be in the 90's but Mallomars always come out in September, hopefully the trucks will be air conditioned.
@Jordan2 I remember Scooter pies.
My ShopRite circular shows that Mallomars will be 2/$4 next week.

Some are thinking of whoopie pies. Moon pies are available everywhere nowadays...Walmart has them in several flyovers and Dollar Tree has them as well. Not a Mallomar fan right now...it's 112 right now and can't even imagine what one would look like in this wretched heat.

@Jordan2 Hmmm. I don't think I've ever had or seen a Mallomar. BUT I just bought a package of Biscoff cookies. I think it just right for fall, but it's 92 here today, so I may hold off opening them. First tried them on an airline years ago, I'm pretty sure it was Delta.

@Jordan2, what a weird coincidence.
For some bizarre reason, a Shelley Winters interview on the Johnny Carson Show popped into my head today.
She was telling Johnny how much she loved Mallomars!
I'd never heard of them before.
To this day, I've never had a Mallomar, but would be happy to give them a whirl.

@Jordan2 I'm not a big fan of them, but can remember my late FIL getting excited at "that time of year." He'd always buy some. One question for you why are they only available "this time of year"?

@coffee drinker although it is extremely hot for September right now, I think it has something to do with September being a little cooler I guess the cookie holds up better. I'm not even sure if they're made all year round. They are always cheapest in September.

One of my fav's, but if they're in the stores now I won't be carrying one home as it's still in the 90's and humid. As for the price you quote - if I could find ONE box of Mallomars in NY for $4 I would be thrilled!
