I killed few snakes last Fall by hacking off their heads with a serrated shovel. Then, I ran over them in the van.
that fellow is for sure dead.
I'm terrified of snakes but my DH doesn't allow them to be killed where we live as most are harmless and they keep the rodent population down which I'm thankful for as I hate all the mice that can overrun our property certain times of the year.

Not me! I find mice repulsive and are disease carriers like cockroaches.

One year, a line of ants along the outside of a window.....
I used red pepper flakes along their trail, and the ants disappeared after a few hours.
Also, for kitchen counters and back splash, I use cinnamon infused vodka. I soak cinnamon sticks in cheap Vodka, and when the vodka becomes nice and dark, I take a paper towel soaked in the cinnamon vodka, and wipe down the counter and backsplash, etc.
Again, they disappear after a couple of hours.
P.S. Keep red pepper flakes away from pets such as dogs, cats, whatever. They usually go around sniffing 'this and that'.
Red pepper flakes are an irritant to pets' delicate noses.

P.S. Warning.......do not place red pepper flakes along the floor if you have pets such as dogs, cats, whatever.
The red pepper flakes are an irritant to pets' noses.
Pets are always walking aroung 'sniffing' 'this and that'.

Not yet for us. Spring hasn't sprung yet. We get ants in late May, early June. Just in the kitchen window area.
