Getting the staples out is a relief. The surgeon will probably push and pull your knee as if it isn't attached to your body😏
64 degrees, slightly overcast at the moment.

@bonnie f Yes, here in PA also. Weather forecasters predicted
over and over 6 to 8 inches and then just a dusting. Glad for that but wish
they could be more accurate. Just bitter cold for now.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 Been at work all day watching it snow on and off through the window. Just a dusting on the ground. I think it's about low 30's out......will find out soon, as I leave at 4:30pm. NE Ohio

@CrazyKittyLvr2 wrote:@Carmie I agree about getting those darn staples out will help. Yesterday the knee still hurt, and I hesitate to say it, but maybe a smidge less. I don't want to jinx myself.
I'm sure tomorrow the Dr. will be yanking the knee to see how far it bends. I need a script to refill my pain meds too He won't like that. I bet $100 he says after tomorrow he won't refill it again. Actually, I hope after this refill I won't need them either. I would be tickled pink to just take a couple Tylenol and call it a day.
Tomorrow should be interesting. I just want it workable enough to walk, do stairs and bend over without pain.
Nowhere in my future is sitting cross legged on the floor, squatting down etc.
A few months ago I was at the front of the line in a ladies room and squatted down to see if all of the stalls were occupied. A lady behind me commented that she wished she could do that and several others agreed. I told them that I’d pass the compliments along to the surgeon who had done my knee replacement!

@tansy Him pushing and pulling is what I'm worried about. The ****** thing hurts enough with the exercises I do.
I get it has to bend blah, blah. I think this guy kicks puppies for fun and jerking my knee around will make his morning.
I was reading about different PT things. I will do the equuipment etc. and exercises but no 180 lb. Physical Terrorist er Therapist is going to put all his weight on my knee and force it to bend. Period.

My ortho surgeon never once pushed on, or bent my knee after surgery. He did ask me to lift and bend my leg, so he could see how easily I could do it, and also judge my degree of pain.
I strongly suggest that before your appointment tomorrow, you use a washcloth to gently rub across each of those staples to possibly loosen any skin that has grown over them. The only painful part of pulling my staples after the first surgery, was literally digging out the 4 that were embedded on one side. There will be blood.

@shoesnbags I do not need to squat to look under bathroom stall doors. That's why God gave me knuckles. I'll knock.
@RedTop Oh, I remember the staples when I had my hip done. They missed one and 3 weeks later something was bugging me at the incision site. I asked my husband what the heck is this I'm feeling. He said they missed a staple and it must have worked it's way to the surface. I just want the little suckers out.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 You made me giggle, because I realized that you might have pictured me going up to each stall and looking under. I just did a quick dip down from where I was standing at the head of the line. Just wanted to reassure you that the time will come when you can squat again - just not real soon. Good luck tomorrow. 👍
