@sligo  I just use a basic recipe and vanilla sauce from Allrecipes.com.

I don't use a water bath.

If it was just me I would add raisins but DD hates them.  I guess I could do part with and part without.

@schorsch   Oh, yeah, 13 degrees is cold.

I live in NEPA and expect cold weather but I don't want freezing your skin cold.

You know, as a kid I never heard the words wind chill or Polar Vortex.

Yikes. I came in and threw my very warm Stan Herman robe in the dryer to warm it up, put on heavy socks and made a cup of hot tea. 

I think the next order of business is to make some bread pudding with vanilla sauce. A nice comfy dessert for tonight.

No matter how chilly it was it is still better than 98 degrees with humidity and sweat running between my..........chesticles, as my DD would say. lol

Oh, it is spitting light snow too. I admit when it is 0 with a wind chill I won't be so generous in my attitude about temps.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 , you sound like my sister. She just bought 2 houses for her outside (feral) cats.She's going to put them up on a skid and put in blankets, etc. and then cover with a tarp.Thanks to you and your DD.

We're supposed to have 70° tomorrow, but 3 weeks ago we had 20° and 10" of snow.  That's the sunny Southwest!

Here in the East Bay - across from San Francisco - it is 59 and light rain.  Thats chilly for us but I love it.  I'd even like it if it snowed but no one else agrees with me! LOL
