What a heart-warmingly wonderful and generous act, Plaid Pants 2. You give us hope for mankind.

Awwww, everyone! You are making me blush!![]()
I didn't want anyone to think that I had abandoned the thread, or didn't appreciate the comments, because I do appreciate them.![]()
I just imagine his surprise when he went back for his sandwich and to pay, only to find out that it was already paid for, and how that made him feel.
Plus, you know that when he got back to the station with his meal, he told his fellow fire fighters.
But I just wanted to say "Thank-you".![]()

@Plaid Pants2It would be fun if you went back to that subway and asked if he came back and his reaction. Hopefully, not too much time elapsed and his sandwich was still viable. If not I'd buy him another and bring it to the station!!!! You just never know what it may bring your way ![]()

@Plaid Pants2 - What a true example of "paying it forward"! Just think what he thought when he found out. He now knows someone appreciates the work he does, and I'm sure that will make a difference in his life. I agree with others - it was not just a sandwich; it was so much more! ![]()

Yup it is the small gestures that help brighten the day of someone else that can make all of the differences seem bearable.

When I read the post about this, "bragging" about what @Plaid Pants2 did never entered my mind. It was her way of showing kindess to a person, a firefighter, a hero, someone who risks his life everyday for us. She felt good about what she did and wanted to share it.
With all the sadness and horror happening in the world these days, it was wonderful to read about this random act of kindness.
Thank you @Plaid Pants2 for bringing a smile to my face today.![]()
