Re: It Seems Trendy to Abbreviate Now

I can't stand when I hear certain hosts saying The OG for the original.

I remember when Maureen from Tarte use to come and present her  products. Shawn whom most of the time I like would call her "Mo". I couldn't stand it.

I totally agree @Sooner , I once asked a poster here if she was being charged per letter on her phone/computer because she abbreviated so much! Is it so hard to spell out the word? E R for earrings, really? The number 2 for the word to, too or two? I could go on.

@JaneMarple , kind of off topic, however, when I read your last sentence, I've noticed a lot of people don't even use the 3 different ones correctly.  On my Facebook page, many people only use the word "to" when it should read, for an example, "me, too", not "me, to.

I guess it comes from back in the dinosaur days when I was a secretary.

Or "I" for Isaac M.  Or "you guys."

I think it's laziness and acceptance of everything under the sun.

I really think people like to be part of the in crowd and have "to heck with those who might not know" attitude.

It may be that the ones abbreviating so much and using shortcuts are typing on their phones?
