Lilies are usually perennials, and they don't bloom the first year but then they are OK. It could have been the fault of muscovy ducks in my neighborhood, which sometimes eat lily roots. Or iguanas.
For whatever reason it didn't seem a good idea to order again. This was one of the Roberta products.
Hi Burnsite!
Lilies grow wild in our back yard, someone before us had to have planted them. They just show up all on their own and I marvel at that, lol.
Ducks in your neighborhood... that sounds wonderful

I love to garden - always loved flowers, bird baths, solar fountains and yep, even mowing my grass!
Fortunately, I have collected many wonderful plants/flowers over the years, so if I add anything, it's not much or else I have to put it in ceramic pots as my backyard is overflowing. I love the birds, butterflies and yep, even my squirrels. I have a hummingbird feeder on my back deck and they come up to it every year and hover not only around it and feed - but they've even hover over me! ![]()

Hi, Noel, I love those ducks. They are really chickens and they look little like mini-turkeys, with red wattles. I'd rather not discourage the ducks, but I have noticed that they love iris bulbs so I consider them the prime suspects in the Great Lily Disappearance. Iguanas are also gentle herbivores but I don't know if they like bulbs. They are beautiful. Their skin is the color of what they eat and in my neighborhood they are bright green, so probably mainly grass. It's been cold--that kills the lizards.
I think they are beautiful.

I would love that.
Something has changed around here. We used to have a lot of birds in the yard. I'm sure I may have cussed once in awhile because they never shut up in Springtime. We had one bird that sang all night for months at a time, a nightingale, apparently.
And we had a lot of blue jays which I loved because they reminded me of my mother. She used to complain about their noise, but then she'd think they were hungry and she'd feed them, lol.
Lot of hummingbirds, too. Not anymore. We hardly see any birds.
Something is wrong.

All we get nowadays are raccoons, which are not wonderful.

Awwww, that's nice to hear that blue jays remind you of your dear mom. Noel....feed them and they will return, I promise you.

I'm not a gardener either. I admire the pretty flowers and such, but it only occupies my attention for a short time.
