I have no idea if this works, but it is worth a try. For those who have power, I have Heat Trak and it keeps the snow and ice melted and makes it safe to walk on your property.

It was 2 degrees here yesterday morninng. I threw some seed out for the birds since the feeder was frozen shut and i oouldnt' open it. The seed scattered across the snow/ice and blew away...saw some birds chasing it. The water in the birdbath was frozen; there was a cardinal literally skating across it. He saw me at the window, stopped, cocked his head at me, and looked really dissatified at the service! If you are ready for spring, raise your hand!

@CrazyKittyLvr2, I'm with you! Yes, I feel so badly for the people who are without electricity and dealing with all of that ice, but that doesn't negate the difficulties some of us are having with this bitter cold and what seems like endless snow!
I'm in St Louis and we've been dealing with snow every few days and temperatures in the single digits or below zero wind chills. Just trying to go out to feed the birds and deer is a major production since there's too much snow on the patio for me to even try to shovel! Oh well - we figure out ways around all of this, but I sure am looking forward to some sunshine, no snow in the forecast and temperatures that can make it above 15 degrees!

Many challenges listed here, oh my. Of course we are pretty much wrung out emotionally and psychologically in many areas of the country. Please reach out in whatever way helps you...prayer, talking with friends and/or family, loving significant others, loving pets...whatever works.

The interesting thing about global warming is that the weather "swings." It is supposed to reach the 60s and be sunny next week in Nashville. Right now, we are completely frozen in with snow and ice. I guess this is becoming part of the new normal.

The noon weather guy said there is another system next Monday into next Tuesday, and then another at the end of next week.
Forget any virus keeping me inside , going to my car is a gamble because what snow we have melts some and then refreezes, then we get more on top of it. It has been plowed and shoveled but it keeps coming. It is not conducive to walking with a cane.
I don't like winter to begin with but the last couple months have been the worst.
It is to be sunny and a balmy 35 degrees Sunday, I'm going to have DD spot me as I go to the car and get out and about. I don't care if I just drive to Dunkin for coffee.
I'm a homebody, could stay in my home for a year at a time, it honestly wouldn't effect me, I worked all my life and to stay at home is wonderful. This morning I had an email from my person in Valdaia, Georgia, telling me it was time to order my onions for delivery last of April, I did, and know Spring is close. We have piles of snow, and very cold but I love it too.

Just checking in real quick before I have to sign off again.....save power as our generator breaker is failing. If I can make it here till after Saturday when it drops to 14 degrees I will have a stiff drink and a good spliff LOL (winking) My Hospice Doctor has started me on high doses of prednisone and increased my morphine...so in a wee bit less pain.
Things are getting real ugly here with many running out of money to fill generators, running out of patience, food etc. The comments on our small incompetent electric coop facebook page getting even uglier, someone just posting the CEO address....bet he dont have his electric tonite one way or another...he wont be on my xmas list for sure but I sure dont wish him harm.! Desperate people do desperate things and we may be without power almost a month!
Anyway I wish all of you warm and safe wherever you are. We could learn from Texas and the good job their linemen are doing. We are still at about same outage numbers for a week....my best to you all xxxxxxxxxxxxx Love Stormy

We got a foot of snow Tuesday and we ar supposed to get another 4" today. It was 2 when I came into work yesterday morning. It was in the negative with the wind chill.
Do I love this? Not really but I certainly am not going to complain about any of my weather when I still have water, electricity and heat, unlike so many others.

@Kachina624 wrote:@CrazyKittyLvr2. You're retired, perhaps you should consider relocating? I hated the weather where I lived so when I retired, I moved. If you're unhappy, fix it!
@Kachina624 Easier said than done!
