Reuters is reporting this today. Apparently the Israeli forensic tech firm reached out to the FBI. Guess Tim Cook will be happy he wasn't forced to do it. But, after hearing about the burner phones yesterday, it may be NBD.

I very okay with the phone being opened and decrypting any necessary info. It's just a phone and lives are worth more.

And I was so sure it was a disgruntled Apple employee or someone's kid. Hope they succeed in getting into it and finding out what they need to know.

I have a suspicion here. It may have been secretive deal to get the info and at the same time preserve the arguments from both. Each one security vs privacy wins. No one has to give in. Betcha Apple even helped the FBI find an alternative.. everyone wins here.
I might add I am a bit proud. Enough said.

You can't beat the Israeli brain!!!!!!!!!!!!! They can do so many things that we think is impossible.
