I live in Chicago, one of the worse cities for traffic tie-ups on the expressways, I avoid them at all costs, usually no close way to exit when delays occur. We have many arterial streets that will get you where you want to go in reasonable time, & a great public transportation system. I volunteer at O'Hare & go in the "back way" nope not telling how, it's fast & easy, also the Blue Line goes right into the airport so that's an option, which I have used, as I can walk to a station from my home, or to go downtown. Not the fastest, but from O'Hare to Downtown 45 minutes.

@spix And very easy for a newbie to learn how to operate. Aside from the toll booths every 100 feet on the interstate, not a bad city to get around in at all.

Too many people and not enough roads/freeways.

I had to drive from the San Diego State College area to La Jolla each day for work when living out there and can't believe I agreed to do that. It was bumper to bumper madness no matter how early you left for work.
