In my county:
Hughesville. MD - On March 27 at 10:53 p.m., officers responded to the 15000 block of Lukes Lane in Hughesville for the report of a large group of people at a single location in violation of Governor Hogan’s emergency order which prohibits planned gatherings of more than 10 people in response to the COVID-19 emergency.
When officers arrived, they observed approximately 60 people at a bonfire. This is the second time officers have responded to this house for a large gathering: On March 22, officers were dispatched to the house for a similar complaint.
At that time, the homeowner, Shawn Marshall Myers, 41, was advised of the emergency order and he agreed to disperse the crowd. During the second incident, Myers refused multiple requests to comply with the emergency order.
After conferring with the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office, Myers was subsequently charged with violating the Governor’s order.
The CCSO is reminding citizens of the emergency order and urging everyone to comply for the safety, health and well-being of all communities.

@Witchy Woman One of my favorite sayings is this: I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you.
That's what I think every time I read about folks congregating in groups during this pandemic. My sister and I were talking about this yesterday and I told her, you know, if people want to get together and kill themselves with this coronavirus go ahead. The downside to this could be results that often come with drunk driving - the drunks live and innocent people die. In other words some might not have any symptoms but will spread the disease and wipe out other people.

Yesterday we had hundreds of strollers at a very popular hiking trail/park here in Big D. REALLY??? As far as I know, nothing was done about it. Not sure whether the City has posted signs. No masks or gloves to be seen in the crowd.
Another sunny day's stroll in the park.
Jeez. ![]()
Later this morning in the news: The City is considering closing the trail/park. CONSIDERING?

Agree.
This knucklehead, and those that attended his party, will be the ones using up all the limited hospital resources, without thought for other lives.
Makes me sad more than angry.

He needs to be arrested. If he wants to confunues to be social he can be social in jail.
I am out of patience with theses selfish stupid people.

@Witchy Woman What frustrates me is this. We live in an era of immediate information. Back in the Spanish Flu times all you had was newspaper reports and I suppose word of mouth.
Coverage of 'Rona is all over. You can't miss it. Governors, Mayors, Celebrities, Doctors, Nurses - heck other Patients are begging people to limit contact with each other.
Americans have gone soft - many of them soft in the head.

Nah. It's like a train. It stops a mile after it hits you.

@Witchy Woman did you see his picture on the local news? Idiot.
IMO they should have also arrested the 60 idiots who attended.

There are so many things people are told not to do but they do anyway so nothing surprises me. Drunk Driving, Drugs, Violence Etc. We will never get everyone to confirm to the Stay at Home Orders.

Yes, I did, so, no surprise at what he was doing.
While I struggle not to judge people I do not know, his appearance spoke loudly, and his actions surely said "dim bulb."
