@Witchy Woman So true...I do read the labels on most things and am so surprised at all the added sugar.
I like sweets in general and try to limit where I can.

True. After all, it's baby cow food, right? Gotta have carbs!
I wonder if there are soy, almond, coconut or other dairy alternative yogurts that manage to have no sugar?

Yes, it's crazy how much sugar is in everything!
I try to really limit my intake, and, by the time you add everything up, it's so frustrating!
Do you try to avoid all sugar, or mostly just added sugar? Aren't they often very different forms of sugar, and have different effects on us? I always thought avoiding all natural sugars is almost impossible and might not even be good for us--it's the added sugar that's a problem.
I'm remembering my diabetic grandmother making apple pies with no added sugar. They were fairly sour, but still very good. Especially with cream on top...oops, there's that dairy again.

I try to avoid as much sugar as possible. Added sugar is the first thing I look for, but will have some fruit...not a lot, but some.
Blueberries, or a peach or something small. I'll even have watermelon this time of year. Yes, I know it is high sugar, but I keep the portions pretty small.
Mostly, I do it for my own well-being. Too much makes me feel sick....and I limit my carbs as much as possible trying to stay with those natural things, but smaller portions.
I learned long ago that both things made me gain weight and affected my physical feelings.
Both parents were adult onset diabetics, but thin people.
In general, sugar is not my friend in any form, so I keep an eye out for all of it. Some days, I do better than others!

That all makes excellent sense. Luckily for me, I don't like sweets much. I keep a box of small dark chocolates around, and only occasionally even eat fruit. I keep swerve in the house for guests who like sugar, and I use maple sugar or coconut sugar if I need a tablespoon in a recipe. If you put a cookie in my hand, I will probably eat it, but I won't bite your hand off getting to it.
Now, if only I weren't so drawn to salty things...

Yes. They are often labeled "Plain". Seems like mainstream brands do not make it. I eat a plain whole milk yougurt that's made in a smaller dairy here in WI but it's not always available. If you count carbs or want better nutrition whole milk is the way to go. But so many people are still eating low fat which has now been proven to be a mistake.

I have tried several brands, including the Too Good yogurt. Currently I have the Oikos brand which says 0 added sugar. I get a variety of fruit flavors and I’m sure some of the sugar is naturally in the fruit.
