Is there a mouse in the house??

Now that fall is coming in about a month, I don't want mice coming in again, like last year.

What is the best way to stop them from coming in the house? I thought about putting screen around the outside of the house (how do you attach it??), but they eat through screens, and if you try to plug up cracks on the outside of the house, it won't let venilation into the basement.

Anyone?? Thanks.
