Re: Is there a middle ground?

Why in the world would anyone feel that QVC should sponsor a board containing religious or political views?  It is a shopping channel!  A shopping channel!  They are not obligated to host a board at all and I'm surprised they devote the resources to have it all and then pay the moderators, etc.  It's a Shopping Channel not a division of the Republican or Democratic parties - or the Baptist or any faith or church at all, not one little bit.  If you don't care to limit your posting to shopping perhaps another board would fit the bill.

Re: Is there a middle ground?

Gloria Jean and I have VERY different takes on religion.  I haven't seen her post about a bed, I will take a look.

That said, Gloria Jean is an amazingly kind lady, she wouldn't hurt a fly. I respect her.

Re: Is there a middle ground?

You can't

People are crazy.  That is a hot potato. Even on religious forums there is fighting and they have to have taboo subjects.

While I respect QVC wanting to maintain their chosen  "standards", the moderators are VERY inconsistent  .... supposedly there should be no talk of religion and politics, but the political comments get poofed and the religious ones are overlooked.

If the moderators can't stick to the published standards ... well .... you get the idea.

That's not really correct.  QVC has been open about allowing threads dealing with religion to some degree on the Among Friends board.  Both Sunny and Gloria Jean are there.

Why would anyone follow them there only to pick at them?

Never heard anyone say, they have never been bored, in their lifetime.

Don't know long you have been around this BB, I can tell I have said it many times here on several different forums. I always " tell it like it is" and that what I have said and will continue to say until or if it ever changes.

If a person has thought processes and/or a body that functions at some level, I don't get how/why one could ever get bored! Use your mind or your body and do something, and boredom will be "just a distant memory".

What exact phrase/word or words bother you? I will certainly rethink whatever those might be, and be more than happy to apologize if I said something offensive to or about you.

You replied "Never heard anyone say they have never been bored". Should I take that as you saying  "I am embellishing" my statement?  I do not, but I suppose I could!

********* Hi, John.....sometimes men and women don't interpret things the same....probably you have noticed that by now!  Ha!

I do understand what you are saying.  My family tells me I could entertain myself in a small jail cell.  They seem to think solitary confinement wouldn't work on me.  I would probably count bugs or try to train them or something!  I once showed my grandchildren that I could keep a ladybug alive almost all winter with a lamp, a drop of water, and some lettuce.....  My elderly father told me, at that point, that I needed to get a life!!!!!  Hope this finds you and Cindy doing much better or as good as it gets!
