Re: Is there a chore you LOATHE doing?

I do hate grocery shopping, I always have hated it.  It was a necessary evil when I was raising the girls but now I've ordering groceries online with Peapod and Amazon'sPrimenow, 2 hours free delivery,  for years.  I only go into grocery store when I'm buying just a few last minute items.  I hate house cleaning in general, especially cleaning the bathrooms.  Which I admit, I do not do.  We have cleaning lady who does the serious cleaning, I just straighten things up.  I don't like doing laundry.  I handwash my undies and light things and send the laundry out.  I know those things have to be done....but not by me.  I make a good living, I don't mind paying to have those things done.  I send hubbie's shirts out to be done but he does his own laundry.  He likes it, he says it's relaxing.

I used to not like (hate) grocery shopping. I love to cook but not shop for food.

Now, I really enjoy it. I stopped going when I had just eaten lunch......the food in the store was revolting and I could hardly wait to get out. I go when I am slightly hungry and everything just seems to inspire me. I know, I know.....this is not the norm but it works for me.

I also do NOT make lists. To me, they stagnate my creative flow. I know this sounds odd but when I changed these behaviors, I found I actually love to grocery shop.

I hate cleaning floors.  Carpeting, limestone and bathroom tile floors are what I have to deal with and I hate them all.

I don't mind grocery shopping or laundry.  Folding king size sheets is not easy so I often wash & dry them and put them back on the bed.

I hate house cleaning and laundry, thank goodness my husband does the laundry and cleans the bathroom and kitchen. We wash the windows twice a year whether they need it or not.LOL

I am right there with you! Grocery shopping is my number one thing that I just don't want or like to do. I have discovered if I go really early in the morning the store is not crowded and I can get in and out pretty quickly. However I still don't like it!!

@Catlady Nicole- with 4 cats, I wouldn't be without my Dyson rechargeable stick vacuum...it picks up every bit of cat fur and tracked litter and is lightweight.

Mine is cleaning the tile in the tub and the shower stall. I noticed my friends tile looked like new. She had three kids just like me. Her answer was that they all wiped down the shower after shower or bath. Told my family this is what you need to do. It never happened. Of course I did it. Now DH does it. I had my turn.

I do not like anything to do with housework - not cleaning, not cooking, not grocery shopping.  Since I have always worked, my thinking has been that I'm not working all day then coming home and working too.

It is worth it to me to pay someone to do the cleaning and I have been lucky over the years to find someone trustworthy and who does a good job, DH does the dinner cooking if we are home and the grocery shopping and we eat out a lot. Always eat lunch out.

One thing I don't mind doing is the laundry.  Into the washer, then into the dryer and put away. Easy peasy.  Will not iron.  If something needs to be ironed, it is not for me - out it goes.  If I really love it, it will go the the cleaners for pressing.  Back when we wore professional clothes such as sutis to work, they always required dry cleaning anyway and casual clohes did not get ironed.

DH has a green thumb and loves to work with flowers and enjoys it.  So that is great.

I do the bill paying but that doesn't really seem like much of a chore to me.  Just sit down, write some checks and that's it.

I am defintely not a domestic type; much prefer going out to work.   One domestic thing I really like to do is decorating our home, but I dont consider that to be a chore, more like a hobby.

I also like things organized and put where they belong.  DH not so much, so I guess I can consider it "housework" since I am always putting things away and re-organizing more efficiently.
