@Goodie2shoes Southeast here and we had a few cooler (high 80's) days and now back into the high 90's with a heat advisory for several days through the weekend.
I'm meeting a friend for lunch and would really rather stay in with this weather.

My CUISINART CONVECTION IS IN THE GARAGE LOL and I baked chicken in it for dinner.
Keeping the house cool.
The all brick house with central A/C is registering at 72 considering the outside temp.
Last year I bought a window unit on sale, end of season, and this morning I put it in a window in my kitchen area. My house is open concept 1960 mid century ranch but I need
Some extra cool air to circulate. Floor fans are great but not enough today. This
Heat wave is suppose to be a week long venture.
I have 2 beagles, but my 17 year old girl needs it cool or she struggles a lot.
I've done my best to conserve energy all year but during this wave of inferno heat U don't care
@katie1859 We have ceiling fans in all our rooms that were put in when we built the house, but in this heat, they don't help that much. The A/C runs constantly set at 70 degrees and set to drop to 65 at night. Our electric bill has been higher all summer. I fear storms that may cause power going out more than fearing other damage.

These temps are very concerning. Ours are still in a range for this time of year, hit as they are but other states are not doing well at all.

I'm in the Southeast. Been in the high 90's for some time now. Went food shopping yesterday and when I got into my car, it said 100.
