My personal preference for naming is to distinguish boy/girl.
I read an article that said that females with unisex names did better in the business environment.
I passed it on to my stylist!

My thoughts/feelings is that people do things like that for no other reason to be different and get attention. River is not a name whether it's for a boy or girl, it's a thing.

River comes across as a boy's name to me. However, that might be because my friend's niece named her twins, River and Brooke. River is the boy, Brooke is the girl.

Some go way too far........I know someone who named their child after an automobile brand..............
