I agree.
Maybe those poor souls and the pain from this tragedy will be a catalyst for change, and something good to come from it.
I hope so. One would like to believe something positive can come from it.

dooBdoo, I was just going to say just about every thing you have said, as tears are coming down from my eyes. Heart felt prayers go out to all these families who are suffering through this. Did you notice how clean their roads are that they are traveling on? So many more to have to take care of and probably bodies still scattered in those fields. So glad Anderson Cooper is doing a lot of the speaking, he has such a comforting voice. Lord the fear those people had to be in when this happened.

I believe they're broadcasting internationally. The motorcade, the people lining the highways, the families of those who were on the flight, the memorial services... all are heartbreaking and sobering reminders of our connection to one another.
I haven't been able to watch it, but I did listen to it this morning around 10am to 10:30am. I was crying as I was driving into work. The swell of emotions just took me over.

I hope it's okay to share this prayer. It's been on my mind recently.
"Let the rain come and wash away
the ancient grudges, the bitter hatreds
held and nurtured over generations.
Let the rain wash away the memory
of the hurt, the neglect.
Then let the sun come out and
fill the sky with rainbows.
Let the warmth of the sun heal us
wherever we are broken.
Let it burn away the fog so that
we can see each other clearly.
So that we can see beyond labels,
beyond accents, gender or skin color.
Let the warmth and brightness
of the sun melt our selfishness.
So that we can share the joys and
feel the sorrows of our neighbors.
And let the light of the sun
be so strong that we will see all
people as our neighbors.
Let the earth, nourished by rain,
bring forth flowers
to surround us with beauty.
And let the mountains teach our hearts
to reach upward to heaven.
Amen."

KittyMom, I have been watching this since this morning and it sure brings back memories of many of the disasters we have had to see. I will never understand why people want to kill each other and especially with shooting down a plane with 80 children on it, plus all the others who were lost to our world because someone chose to do this act.

Beautiful touching prayer doobdoo , I don't know how you found this prayer so quickly but thank you so much for posting it. This is just such a sad day for all these families and many more to come so much heart ache for all of them and us to watch.

I agree that CNN's coverage today has been excellent. I watched the planes arriving and the coffins being taken off by the military earlier today. All the honor that the military shows when it's one of their own. It's a sad reminder of 9/11 - when the whole world is horrified and comes together as just human beings, with all the feeling and emotion for those who are suffering.
While we can be grateful for those things which remind us to think of each other as human beings who matter, isn't it sad that it often takes a tragedy to remind us of this.
