Is anyone watching Ellen's Design Challenge? Its on HGTV on Mondays at 9 (but it reruns @ various times over night etc.). I dvr'd it and watched a bit ago. I like it.

The designers design furniture. It is kind of like the Project Runway of designing furniture because in the first episode the designers had to design furniture pieces out of a big box that was sent to them (not a cardboard box, a box that was made out of wood, etc. to use).

They each get a carpenter to work with and each week one person goes home. (They already eliminated one person tonight). And they have a style wall to set things on the furniture once its finished if they want.

The winner will get 100,000 dollars and a spread in a magazine.

I planned on watching but then forgot about it. I'll try to catch it on a rerun. Sounds kind of fun.

I loved it and already set to record the series just in case I miss it. It was a good show. The guy from Colorado that won that advantage for next week makes beautiful furniture. The edge he has is he not only designs but he builds furniture and the others only design.

Had not heard of it but it sounds great. DH may be in trouble if I start watching because I'm always trying to get him to build something. Gonna' have to check this out.

Preds, maybe it'll inspire your DH! :-). I'm going to check it out as I love Ellen. She makes everything fun.

I have always liked Ellen, too, but the subject didn't grab me. Too bad somebody in the thread spoiled the episode. I was thinking about watching after reading a few things but I guess that saved me 42 minutes of my time.
