I'm in Southeastern Connecticut.  For food:  Big Y or BJ's Warehouse.  Our new Costco doesn't seem to have much - JMO - maybe if I had a family I would like it better.  We don't have upscale stores here - basically only T.J. Maxx, Marshall's and HomeGoods. I went to HG yesterday for the first time in 16 months, and bought nothing.  At the casinos are some name brand stores, but I don't shop there.  I have transitioned to buying online for almost everything except food, and even that I order from QVC.

Oh ya......Foxwoods outlets! I do love those for sure! I think the outlets at Foxwoods Are much better than the stores at Mohegan Sun.  Mohegan Sun stores are just regular retail, though they are lovely. I like the Michael Kors, UGG, and Talbots outlet at Foxwoods.

I prefer everything about Foxwoods to Mohegan Sun.  I love all the windows and light coming through and views of the beautiful woods outside, and the outlets and restaurants.  Mohegan is like a big cave.  JMO.

PS - if you are visiting near the Mystic area, Olde Mistick Village is a must for browsing and shopping.  So much cool stuff and great places to eat.

We went to Foxwoods yesterday. We only bet a tiny amount, and didn't win, but took a long walk all the way around the loop. Mystic village, what a great idea! That will be on our list as well. I love that area. Also downtown Mystic, the drawbridge ice cream shop.

Re: Is anyone here from Connecticut Or Massachusetts?

Yes, the Wrentham Outlets are no more than 10 minutes apart. Plus there is shopping at Gillette Stadium also minutes away- I don't shop at  the "main stores" when I go there , mostly Christmas Tree Shop, Trader Joes and Bass Pro Shop. The Country Shoppe in Dartmouth has mostly furniture, with Home Decor pieces decorating the tops of islands, tables etc. i just love the atmosphere there. Plus there's Hobby Lobby and Home Goods in Seekonk.. and along the way in Swansea, there is the Willow Tree Country shoppe ( not very big and mostly lanterns and candles )

I would say my decorating style is not Country, i just like to see different things..           I'm a  fan of metal decor, fake tulips and florals, and trees of all sorts and sizes with bit of  whimsey thrown in.

' i just don't like big stores..except for Ikea in Stoughton ( if you've never been, be prepared for a lot of walking.)

Enjoy your visit - wherever you end up Smiley Happy

Oh ok. When I was a kid my mom and grandmother would always go to Ann and hope in the Monday area.

Oh yeah! This sounds great. I love looking at antique furniture. The history is so rich behind all these beautiful pieces.

We used to go every Saturday.  You could spend hours in there.  I always used to get a slice of pizza at the snack bar on the way out.  Ah! Memories!
