On the topic, the breath of life is the same for all of us. If the world population doesn't slow dramatically, we'll all eventually be more up close and personal with disasters that take multiples of lives.
Thinking about all the children, victims to natural forces or cruel people, is rough. One baby killed is no more or less valuable a life here than "there". Every person is equally as valuable as any child, with a life to be lived, born to breath the oxygen we all share (personalities aside).
People are generally egocentric to a fault but that's for another discussion.
Yes, that's the one. Unfortunately, it will take a catastrophe unlike the world of human beings has ever known to wake the majority up. No report is going to do it.
Ever think about how mocked AG was?
Ford I agree with your above statement about what it will take to wake the majority up but then it could be too late. Sorry, but who was AG?

Taking the chance that it might result in this thread being poofed, he was a former VP, famous for a book and a movie about everything that is now happening.

Thanks Ford. I will have to look into this; I can't understand for the life of me why so many still don't get it. (let them poof; this needed to be said)

I think in China, where they have a one-child policy, lives are worth more to those with one child.
Some of the people on the plane were Chinese. One woman lost three generations.

Birth/Life isn't valued as a privilege in the US any more. It's given the generic terms 'right' or 'choice'.

Hi Esmerelda
You bring up a good point. It's absolutely tragic to lose three generations like that. I can't even imagine how the surviving family must feel.

AG would be a weak example to me. He didn't/doesn't walk the talk.
Someone like Ed Begley, Jr. thinks before every move he makes. That to me is admirable.

I'm with the OP ... I just don't get all the coverage of this plane. We all know it's down somewhere in the ocean, but the constant news coverage is darn-right over the top.
I refuse to watch most news coverage ... too many channels, too many "reporters," too many "analysts," anyway, trying to fill up the 24 hours in the day.

And hey, we have a big problem here in the USA......what about the lives in the mud slide in Washington. They are still looking for bodies there.
My heart was aching when CNN showed the interview with the man from Malaysia whose wife was an employee on 370.....their children are wondering when mommy will come home. How do you explain that one???? My heart went out to him on that one.
Every life is precious........

Perhaps we can identify more with an airplane crash than people starving.
