Breaking News: The Preliminary test on the Yale student is negative. They will do a second test. What a relief. But again, better to be cautious.

Thanks focksie! Here's the story.

The fact that the Frontier Airlines plane made other trips to several states after it was discovered that Amber Vinson was on it, and only now is out of service while carpeting and everything is being ripped out is ridiculous. Yet another delayed reaction. I just don't get it.

Would you perhaps feel differently if your child attended this school?

This staffer wasn't even on the same flight as the nurse.

I think the school is going waaaay overboard and I would certainly send my child to the school w/o the so called sterilization.

terrier: I don't believe you. You were in a panic when a certain gub-nor from a certain state was in your own city, demanding nobody in, nobody out of Dallas and the whole darn state for that matter.

I was trying to make a point...I was being "ironic".

Anyone who took me seriously doesn't know me!

Anyway - not ONE of you who want to restrict travel actually want to restrict travel in and out of the center of the USA contagion - Dallas.

They have even moved both nurses out of that hospital - and the head of the hospital apologized for their errors.

Yet NOT ONE OF YOU blame the hospital at all.

If you want to stop the center of ebola in the USA in it's tracks - you would close the hospital - disinfect it from top to bottom and bring back patients & staff after 21 days.

You were all bluffing.

Why close the barn door now that the horses have escaped? Too little too late.

If the hospital had been quarantined...and all travel in and out of Dallas halted - the nurse wouldn't have been able to fly to Ohio.

I think it's better to be cautious than not, especially when it involves children.

Heck, our elementary school closed down for a day to clean after there was a minimal outbreak of pink eye.

There is no harm in cleaning the school, there are certainly lots of viruses and bacteria in it to be eradicated without the unlikely addition of Ebola.

terrier: Please stop including *me* in that *you* group. I never said the hospital was not to blame. Nor did I say that all travel from other countries should be restricted, so do not put words in my posts that were never there. I did say that restricting travel in and out of TX was impossible. Because it is.

As far as your remark being "ironic" well ha ha ha. What a laugh we all got! I thought there wasn't room for that regarding this subject. If it's ok for irony and satire for some then it's ok for all.

Your remarks about immune compromised children was uncalled for. You don't know who here has such a child, and those who do live everyday concerned about that child seeing another birthday, another holiday, another day in our lives - well you just cannot imagine.

Didn't the nurse visit her fiancé in Ohio? If they were intimate then surely he is at incredible risk to have been infected?

You correctly stated that it would be impossible to restrict travel in and out of Dallas. Same with travel in and out of West Africa too.

I stand by what I said about immune compromised children - it's a tough situation and they have a LOT more things to worry about than ebola...flu, measles, mumps, chicken pox, polio, whooping cough - all the childhood illnesses that are making a resurgence thanks to parents who don't "believe" in vaccinations. A child in that situation is much more likely to get a childhood illness due to unvaccinated classmates.
