Re: Is There Anything You Collect?

I used to collect small, wind up music boxes.  I only had about a dozen or so.  I got rid of them though before moving into my current house.  I just didn't want the clutter anymore.

I have always been curious though about collecting antique stick pins or antique compact mirrors.  There's just something intriquing about those items.  Makes me wonder about who the lady was that wore the pin or gazed into the mirror.

Re: Is There Anything You Collect?

Not any more.  I used to but I came to realize that after I'm gone no one (family included) wants my collectibles.  I used to do Humels and Precious Moments.  I decided to sell them but no one wanted them.  Ebay  is full of them.  I was selling them at yard sales for about $2.

So, I don't collect anything now.

You and your husband are a perfect match and I suspect good fun.

Re: Is There Anything You Collect?

I used to collect and display Dept. 56 Dickens' Village pieces.  Moved them with us to FL about 14 yrs. ago and they're shelved.  All 30+ pieces plus that many accessories.

Was ready to see if our nearby hospice resale store would take them as donations, but then covid happened.

One of these days...

@LdyBugz

I feel the same, wondering about the lives of former owners. Sometimes, vintage jewelry will still have it's original velvet box and when the box is worn; I know it was loved.

We think we are.

Before the internet and Google I would get calls from friends asking questions. Even as a kid this would happen to me.
