Is It Possible to OWE On a Return?

If you buy an inexpensive item on easy pay, is it possible to OWE more than what you've paid in on a return?

That question just occurred to me!

@Sooner @Yes due to the shipping and handling charges both ways.

I was told a while ago (last year) that the answer would be, No, you cannot owe money.

What will happen, in your example for instance, is that QVC will not process the refund until you have paid enough Easy Pays to at least cover a refund amount.

With anything, if this circumstance directly impacts your own refund, contact CS to get their latest policy on it.

Quite possibly, when you factor in the charge for returning the item.

Yes....If you sent an item back just because you did not like it and you chose easy payments (depending on the amount for that item) your refund could be reduced by shipping and handling and return label fees leaving you with a balance due to QVC.

This happened to me on HSN and never again did I use the label fee unless the item was defective or they sent out the wrong item.

@wagirl  I paid to return two items to Evine last week (one was defective and the other item was fine) and my refund was way less then it was supposed to be. When I called the CS rep finally admitted the shipping and handling charges were not credited for the defective item.

I decided not to use the smart label because one of the items was not damaged and did not want to take a chance on being charged the smart label fee. It was cheaper to pay to send the 2 jewelry items back.

I also discovered the shipping and handling fees were taxes as well. Between the high shipping and handling fees and the way they handle returns I have decreased my shopping on Evine to almost zero!
