and back to being a Cat 4!
Geesh...hopefully it won't slow down anymore! That only extends out the the length of time the brutal winds will batter everything as it moves through FL. I remember when it was moving at a 16 mph pace!

HSN is replaying earlier shows with a message on their website that their families are prepping for the coming storm. I thought Gov. Rick Scott, who has been doing a terrific job in getting the state ready for Irma, sounded really worried in his latest news conference. Thoughts and prayers to everyone in Florida.

@Bahamasgirl, Do you know where HSN is located in Florida? Everyone's safety in Florida is more important than any shopping network or news station. Stay safe.

@JillyMarie Your statement is a bit too general. Technically Irma's outer bands has already reached Sarasota a couple of hours ago...if not sooner. There are folks in Sarasota already without power.
However, Irma has just begun heading to Key West...and at 6 mph, it will take several hours for Irma's worst to get anywhere near Sarasota.
You can also check that by going to the weather channel dot com, and put in the zipcode or just Sarasota. Then click on the hourly forecast. You can then check the wind/rain per hour...winds (mph & direction), inches of rain, etc. When you scroll to the bottom you can click on 'next 8 hours' (3 or 4 times for about 36 hrs total)...HTH

My source is the NOHA Hurricane Irma National Hurricane Center -- Warning/Cone Interactive Map.
Sorry if you fine it a bit too general but that is what it states.
