I saw Snow White and the Huntsman several years and it was so depressing. Talk about a dark movie. I do intend to see Cinderella.

There are a TON of fractured fairy tales in children's literature. I think there are too many - some are really dumb and some are super cute.

Well, I hope they never do "Hansel and Gretel" as it was written. It is surely a Grimm tale (pun intended). I have often wondered why Disney never touched that one.

Disney changes the gory parts of fairy tales to ""Disney-fy"" them. Like in Cinderella -- the step sisters actually cut off parts of their feet to try to fit them into the shoe.

We saw Into the Woods at an outdoor theater and enjoyed it very much.

We are not movie goers so will wait. I do like Johnny Depp and can picture him in that role.

Broadway plays evolve over their lifespan so whatever production you saw is likely different (often quite different) from earlier or later versions. Change is pretty much a natural thing in performance art. "Jekyll and Hyde" underwent multiple changes and lost a favorite song of mine along the way. I was sitting there waiting for that song and suddenly it's no longer there.

Some plays lose characters, some lose songs, but very few plays stay true to the original for more than a few months at a time. Some plays ("Showboat" being one example) get radically reworked due to societal changes from the time the show was written/first performed until now. There are plays that if every song/scene ever used in the production were put in at once the play would take a day or more to perform. Change isn't always good, but it isn't always bad either. I'll give "Into the Woods" a shot and see how I like it. I think it will be pretty good.

I love when moot courts use fairy tales as court cases!
