Into the Mind (2013) viewed on the Outside Channel.  Just totally stunning....mostly filmed in Tibet.  A film of those that risk their lives plummeting down the slopes just for the thrill.....and much respect for the mental discipline it took to accomplish the improbable.    It makes me reflect on my life.  This film inspires and challenges us....in our own special way.

I am ready to enter a new adventure that involves risk and transformation. Watching this is highly motivating and supportive of pushing yourself beyond limits unthinkable.  So appropriate at this time and thought some of you might be inspired by these amazing athletes as well as the beautifully filmed locations.  I love seeing people succeed and push themselves....whether it be an 80 year old completing a first marathon (or maybe even a walk around the block for someone who has been bedridden) or a seasoned athlete accomplishing the seemingly impossible.

I hope this new year brings much happiness, health, and new adventures to all of us.

Just yesterday(Wednesday) at the ice rink, I spoke with 2 different groups of people about skating. They started the conversation by asking me how long I have been ice skating.

From there we went into the learning process, especially for adults. I told them if you want to learn to ice skate well, be prepared to do a lot of falling. You want to learn, you have to know there are risks involved.

Those that told me they were afraid to fall! I told them it probably wasn't something they should try to learn. No matter your level and skill, when ice skating, you fall. The more often you skate, the more chances you are going to fall.

Most of my life the sports/hobbies I chose(auto racing and hockey), are not considered low risk activities. Started auto racing when I was 16, against the approval by my mother. She was a hockey fan, so no issues there.

My feelings are no different when it comes to this virus. Get the protection you "know" YOU need, and keep on bookin. Life is a risk and not everyone sees it the same.

Your summation of this film is a good example of what we see as impossible, are not always so! Each person can probably do more things successfully than they think, but along with that comes risk.

Can't tell you the number of skaters I have met at the ice rink that ask me, "aren't you afraid of getting hurt"? My reply is always the same, "if I was, I wouldn't be here".

Great post and I thank you for sharing it.

Be well,
