I am appalled how little coverage this subject has on any of the main t.v. stations. After about 10 years, finally the Conference is back here where it belongs. Why? DC is the city with the most HIV/AIDS cases and a large percentage of them aren't even diagnosed yet. Just read an article that even regular family doctors never address this issue, and the percentage of diagnosed HIV?AIDS amongst the married people is extremely high, comparatively speaking.
In the 80s I worked with a very well-known acupuncturist who said it is anticipated that many a wife will find out too late that she is infected, from cases where the man has other relationships an having unprotected s e k x s. He is no longer alive, but he was correct, unfortunately.
Also, although the conference is about and with research experts (and Bill Gates also is a participant, for all the work he does in this field), on an international level, there is very little written about it even in our newspapers or in conversations held around the country, and no different around the world.
A little compassion goes a long way...
Just felt like posting this. Just f.y.i.
