Something I noticed on our move down to Florida:
in Maryland, signs were EVERYWHERE that it had to be EITHER exact change OR credit card, no exceptions. I witnessed people walking away from a counter (or a drive-thru window) because they didn't have the change or didn't want to charge their purchase. When we started our drive down, we made sure to to have plenty of change on hand for this reason. We made a few stops (gas was on the card but water/food was cash) and we would see the same signs at the registers/drive thru. When we hit South Carolina, it stopped with the exception of one gas station in Georgia. Now that we're in Florida, we haven't seen a single sign stating exact change/coin shortage...nothing. Even our children have all picked up on it.
Makes you wonder, you know?
