I lost my insurance when I got divorced and now receive medical. I needed to see ob/gyn and the next available appointment was in December and I couldn't wait that long. My first choice was to find a womens health center that didn't perform termination of pregnancies and I could not find one. I did find many P.P. I really didnt want to go but remembered how good they were to me as a teen and after 33 years went back to get 2 tests done.

Despite my personal feelings, they offer so many services that I didn't even know they offered and lots of information and free birthcontrol. I gave a small donation because one of the tests they performed is a simple blood test, that people probably dont even know about yet should get if your not in a monogamous (sp) relationship. I even told my nurse that although I didn't agree one of their practices, they offer so much to poor women, young women or women who want to be anonymous.

These are just my and experiences but thought I would pass it along to those who wonder what PP does.

Thank you for the warning. It wasn't my first choice and I looked for a womens clinic but they only thing in the 3 cities I checked was PP.

My pastor's wife is employed by the local PP.  She has spoke of how many women would not be able to get routine, affordable ob/gyn attention if the facility did not exist.

What the OP saw is the reality of all that PP does for women--not the shady organization the pundits want you to believe.  It would be a tragedy for everyone who needs their services if they were to go away.

I'm so glad you were able to get the care you DESERVED.

Every woman deserves that .. Sadly one state in particular doesn't care about that and are doing everything in their power to take it away. People just think they performed one procedure. Hey people...how about you educate yourselves?

How anyone can be okay with that is mind blowing.
